The Beginning… I was a Junior at the University of Maryland, and went to see my girlfriend in a production of ONCE UPON A MATTRESS at the on-campus dinner theatre. The lights came up and something powerful happened to me. I said to myself, “I will do the next show at this theatre.” I did just that and have been acting for over 20 years now. After performing in few productions, I knew that I wanted to go to graduate school to get my MFA in Acting. Both of my teachers pointed me to Rutgers. I interviewed with Bill Esper, Head of the Rutgers Acting program, took the summer intensive at his New York studio and was accepted to Rutgers in the fall. Three years later, with that MFA in hand, I did the summer season at the Berkshire Theatre Festival and headed straight for…

New York, New York!... I wanted to continue my training. After the third consecutive recommendation I auditioned for Wynn Handman and began studying at his studio. Wynn’s teaching style was the perfect complement to my Rutgers Meisner training and helped me to solidify my talent for creating characters. Inspired by actors who were writing their own work for Wynn’s class (John Leguizamo studied there), I started to write my own solo work and some short plays. At that same time, I joined forces with seven other actor/writers to start RUMBLE IN THE RED ROOM – a weekly showcase of solo material.

Production… I realized that eight of my character monologues answered to a single theme, so I combined them to create my solo show FINDING PIECES. I produced FINDING PIECES for the 2004 Midtown International Theatre Festival. In that same year, my short play COMING TO THE TABLE was produced by The Drilling Company and then published in PLAYS AND PLAYWRIGHTS 2005. Also in 2005, I produced a collection of my short plays titled FOUR FOR THE OFFICE.

Now… I currently perform on the New York stage as well as in regional theatre, film and television. As a playwright, my work has been produced and published. And as an acting coach I help other actors to strengthen their skills and to prepare for auditions and actual productions.
